DACTYL FOUNDATION INTERNSHIP/VOLUNTEER PROGRAM:

Internships are available year round. One month or longer. The position is unpaid, but internships can be applied towards school credit, if your college or university has such a program. Volunteers are welcome at any time. Please see our calendar for a complete listing of upcoming events.

11. Interns gernerally work 2 days per week Tuesday-Saturday
from 1-6 pm, plus special events. Tell us the days you are available.

Gallery Attendant: Greet visitors at the front door of our ground floor galley and answer telephones.
Event Planning: Develop mailing list. Print invitations and prepare mailing. Write and send press releases. Send information to the "event listing" sections of various publications.
Event Hosting: Stock wine and other kitchen supplies. Arrange seating and lighting. Serve beverages. Operate video camera. Occasional Hours 6-9pm
Office Management: Work with PC, Microsoft Office (Access and Word), and Adobe Photoshop. Update mailing list and website. Light typing, filing and mail sorting.
Assistant to Visual Art Curator: Evaluate submissions. Visit area exhibitions. Work with artists in preparation for exhibitions. Assist in hanging works, preparing walls and setting up lighting.
Assistant to the President: Assist in fundraising and grant-writing activities. Proofread proposals and conduct research.
Work from Home Public relations work and website development from home using email and Internet.
